The Board of Directors and Members of Central Texas Commercial Association of Realtors (CTCAR) are very supportive of an inclusive, affordable and accessible Austin community. Unfortunately, the most recent version of the city of Austin development code, CodeNext 3.0, fails to meet these goals and will inhibit smart, progressive, affordable and efficient growth.

CTCAR supports its fellow real estate professionals and associations within the real estate industry. Recently the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) released their Board Position on CodeNext 3.0. CTCAR’s Board of Directors are supportive of their position and echo the comments released.

As a member of CTCAR, we collectively represent over 600 real estate professionals located in Austin and the surrounding counties. The CTCAR Board of Directors support the City of Austin and its leadership, but cannot support CodeNext 3.0. CTCAR will remain supportive of RECA, the Urban Land Institute and Evolve Austin’s Coalition and its efforts to create a workable development code for the City of Austin.
